Static code analysers help in exposing internal code quality problems. For higher effectiveness, they must be pressed into use early during the development of code. They must support the formulation of new coding constraints with relative ease to better cope with variations in coding standards. We present the design of a static analyser that addresses these twin objectives. Our system provides interactive feedback to programmers on the non-conformances that occur in response to the changes made to the code. Its rule construction framework empowers programmers to define new conformance rules, which can come into effect immediately after creation. The tool has been realized as an Eclipse plug-in for the analysis of C, C++ and Java sources. Central to its design is the concept of reusing a set of primitive checks by composing them to form new rules. This renders rule construction accessible to programmers, lowers dependence on tool smiths and accelerates the enforcement of custom checks. We also present our experience in defining rules drawn from an industry standard rule set based on this approach.

Aims: The study was conducted to compare the efficacy of natural growth promoter AV/AGP/10 with antibiotic supplements on overall growth performance and intestinal micrometry of broiler birds.Study Design: Total of 150 healthy day old Vencob broiler chicks of nearly similar live body weight were equally divided into 5 groups of 30 birds each with three replicates in each group. All the groups were fed with basal diet. Group-I was positive control without any supplement, Group- II was supplemented with AV/AGP/10 @ 250g/ton of feed, Group-III supplemented with AV/AGP/10@500g/ton of feed, Group-IV supplemented with Bacitracin Methylene Dicyticylate @100g/ton of feed and Group-V supplemented with Oregostim @ 250g/ton of feed.Place and Duration of Study: the study was conducted in the department of Animal Nutrition, College of Veterinary and Animal sciences, Udgir, Dist. Latur, Maharashtra, India during the month of April- June 2012 for 42 days. The mean maximum daily temperature recorded at the time of trial was 41±2oC and relative humidity (RH) 80.57 ± 1.50 %.Methodology: the efficacy of the products was assessed on the basis of feed consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion ratio (FCR), metabolic trial / nutrient retention trial, intestinal micrometry and carcass yield / dressing percentage. Results: at the end of sixth week, significantly higher live body weight (1874.19, 1921.51, 1720.39 and 1673.58) with more economical FCR (1.74, 1.71, 1.78 and 1.78) along with marked improvement in digestibility of nutrients from supplementation of herbal growth promoter with equal competence as that of synthetic antibiotic was observed. The intestinal micrometry at day 21 and 42 also revealed better results with natural growth promoter as compared to synthetic growth promoter and control group in terms of villous height, width and crypts depth. Conclusion: Considering the overall trial results and harmful effects of antibiotic growth promoter such as bacterial resistance or undesired residues in animal products, the natural product AV/AGP/10 is better option as growth promoter and performance enhancers in broiler birds.

The influence of notch orientation and service temperature on the impact toughness of glass-epoxy composites filled with secondary and hybrid fillers has been studied. The experiment was carried out under different service temperatures by using pendulum type impact testing machine. Specimens were tested with two notch configurations such as notch along the laminate and notch across the laminate. The composite laminates were fabricated by using a hand lay-up technique and the experimentations were carried out according to the ASTM standards. The results showed that the specimen subjected to high temperature requires higher breaking impact toughness till 60 °C, further increase in temperature leads to decrease in required breaking impact toughness. The notch along the laminate is highly prone to catastrophic failure and notch across the laminate sustains the impact load to a considerable amount.

Chicken meat tends to be high in polyunsaturated fatty acids and cholesterol, which may increase the risk of atherosclerosis, stroke and other associated diseases. A study was conducted for 42 days to evaluate the efficacy of dietary supplementation of two phytogenic feed supplements viz. AV/LMP/10 and AV/HLP/16 ( M/s Ayurvet Limited, India) for their ability to produce lean meat in commercial broiler chicken. One hundred and fifty (150) one-day old Cobb-400 broiler chicks were randomly allocated to five equal groups. All the groups were fed standard basal ration. T0 was control group (without treatment), groups T1 and T2 were supplemented with AV/LMP/10 @ 500 g/ton and 1 kg/ton of feed, respectively. Groups T3 and T4 were supplemented with AV/HLP/16 @ 1 kg/ton and 1.5 kg/ton of feed, respectively. On day 42, significantly better (P<0.05) results were obtained in the treated groups (T1-T4) in terms of body weight (2118.10±0.61, 2159.20±0.34, 2098.90±0.41, and 2180.40±0.56 g), total protein (19.10±0.56, 19.93±1.18, 20.80±0.36, and 21.04±0.64%), crude fat (1.25 ±0.25, 1.25 ± 0.31, 0.92 ± 0.24, and 1.03 ± 0.03%), pH (6.01 ± 0.07, 5.93 ± 0.09, 5.78 ± 0.08, and 6.06 ± 0.09), TBARS value (1.11±0.07, 1.11±0.05, 1.06±0.06, and 1.08±0.06 mg/Kg), cholesterol (54.19±1.11, 35.72±1.71, 45.61±1.54, and 36.09±1.045 mg/dL), HDL cholesterol (16.70±0.56, 12.61±1.28, 14.16±1.02, and 15.59±0.57 mg/dL) and total lipids (1.60±0.13, 1.56±0.22, 1.64±0.15, and 2.03±0.12 mg/g) in comparison to the untreated group (2050.80±0.71 g, 18.15±0.41%, 1.66 ± 0.48%, 6.07 ± 0.08, 1.18±0.09 mg/Kg, 62.36±0.88 mg/dL, 24.25±0.54 mg/dL and 2.42±0.18 mg/g). FCR and slaughter parameters varied non-significantly among different groups. The meat: bone ratio was numerically higher in the treated groups T1-4 (2.01±0.20, 2.09 ±0.19, 2.16±0.20 and 1.89±0.35) as compared to the control group (1.80±0.18). The highest protein content was obtained in T4 (21.04%) followed by T3 (20.80%), T2 (19.93%), T1 (19.10%) and lowest in T0 (18.15%), while highest crude fat was obtained in the muscles of the control group T0 (1.66%) followed by T1 and T2 (1.25%), T4 (1.03%) and T3 (0.92). Overall sensory acceptability of meat also improved in the supplemented groups. From the present study, it could be concluded that the phytogenic formulations AV/LMP/10 and AV/HLP/16 were effective in lean meat production in broiler chicken.

A study was conducted in 72 day old Vencobb broiler chicks to evaluate toxic effects of aflatoxin B1 and ochratoxin A and efficacy of herbomineral toxin binder product Vilocym Z (supplied by Ayurvet Ltd., Baddi, India) in preventing co-mycotoxicosis. Chicks were randomly divided into three groups (n = 24) and each group having three replicated of 8 chicks each. Group I served as healthy Control (C) and given standard basal ration and no treatment, Group T0 and T1 birds were fed standard basal diet and mycotoxicated with 100 ppb each of aflatoxin B1 and ochratoxin A from 0-42 days. Group T0 is not given any treatment and served as positive control; however, mycotoxicated group T1 was administered herbomineral toxin binder product Vilocym Z@1kg/tonne of feed for 6 weeks. Mycotoxin adversely affected body weight gain, feed consumption, feed efficiency, haematobiochemical profile. However, supplementation of herbomineral toxin binder feed supplement has provided amelioration in mixed mycotoxicosis in broilers.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the potential of bioconversion of industrial herbal waste to vermicompost using Eudrilus eugeniae. Vermibeds were made using a mixture of herbal waste and cowdung (1:1) in comparison with the use of cowdung alone as substrate, resulting in vermicomposts 1 and 2, respectively. Different parameters were studied and it was observed that the nutrient profile of vermicompost 1 strongly influenced the growth of pea (Pisum sativum) and marigold plant (Tagetus erectus). The dry and fresh weight of shoots and roots, number of flowers, total yield in terms of fruit showed significant increase with vermicompost 1. Furthermore, vermicompost 1 (herbal waste and cow dung as substrate) resulted in a significant reduction in TOC by 58% in comparison with vermicompost 2 (cowdung as substrate). The C: N ratio was less than 20 in vermicompost 1 as well as in vermicompost 2, which indicated an advanced degree of stabilization and mineralization. The ability of earthworms to survive, grow and breed in the vermibed fed with the herbal waste indicates the sustainability and efficiency of a heterogeneous kind of organic waste. The results of the study suggested that bulk industrial herbal waste can be utilized as a substrate for vermicomposting and this can be proposed as an alternative for waste disposal in a clean green manner, promoting the concept of organic farming.

A 6 week long experimental trial was conducted to study whether the supplementation of herbal products Superliv liq. and Repchol (supplied by M/S Ayurvet Limited, Baddi, India) are efficacious in treatment of liver and kidney due to CCl4. A total of 75 Cobb day old broilers were divided into three equal groups (n = 25). Group A served as negative control, group B (positive control) and C (treatment group) were induced with FLKS with CCL4 @1 ml/kg body weight orally, administered every 3rd day during 15-28 days of trial. Treated group C were given Superliv Liq. @5 ml/100 chicks/day for first 2 weeks and @ 10 ml/100 chicks/day for 3-6 weeks along with drinking water in combination with Repchol@500 gm/ton of feed from 0-6 weeks. Fatty liver and kidney syndrome lead to depression in growth rate, lowered feed efficiency and disturbances in immunopathological and biochemical parameters . Final mean body weight of group C was significantly (0.01) higher than group A and B. A significant (0.01) decrease in feed conversion ratio was observed in group C as compared to group B. A significant (0.01) decrease in level of cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, VLDL, creatinine, liver enzymes (SGOT and SGPT) and increase in serum protein level was recorded in group C as compared to group B on 28th and 42nd day of experiment, which was in confirmation with the values of negative control group A, falling into normal range. Gross and histopathology of liver and kidney revealed that there was mild congestion and negligible degenerative changes in group C in contrast to severe changes of FLKS syndrome in group B. It can be concluded that liver tonic Superliv liquid along with phytoadditive Repchol (supplement for choline and biotin) efficaciously ameliorated the CCl4 induced toxicity, when administered prophylactically in broilers.

Overcrowding of broiler chicks due to lack of space induces harmful effects which act as predisposing factor in the reduction of production and performance in poultry. Supplementation of antistressor products can ameliorate adverse effect of various stressors in poultry. An experiment was designed by inducing overcrowding stress and its management by supplementation of polyherbal antistressor, adaptogenic and immunomodulator formulation Stresroak in broiler chicken. One hundred and fifty day old broiler chicks were randomly divided into five groups of 30 chicks each. Groups I, II and III served as control and were only offered with basal diet. Group I served as control with a normal space. The chicks in groups II and III (positive control) were provided with space 25% and 50% lesser than normal, respectively. The bird in therapeutic group IV and V were provided with 25% and 50% less space along with antistressor Stresroak@1g/1kg of feed, respectively. Growth and performance related parameters like feed consumption, body weight, feed conversion ratio (FCR) were evaluated in addition to haematological, serum biochemical and gross pathological studies. Polyherbal formulation not only improved growth and performance related parameters, but also normalized the haematological and serum biochemical parameters. Gross pathological lesions in vital organs also showed improvement in therapeutic group compared to control. It was concluded that Stresroak exhibits antistressor and adaptogenic activity to ameliorate the overcrowding stress in poultry.
